Fair chaser. Blinkered for 1st time, ran to a similar level as on his chasing bow when seventh of 14 in beginners chase at Kilbeggan (20.4f, good, 11/1) 3 weeks ago, doing too much too soon. Tongue strap back on.

Fair hurdler. Good third of 10 in handicap hurdle (7/2) at Limerick (19f, soft) 8 days ago. Threatening to come good soon, so he's one for the shortlist on chase debut, especially if well supported (has previous experience in points).

Modest chaser. Faced a stiff task on her first venture out of maiden company when last of 5 in minor event chase (16/1) at Limerick (19.7f, good) 15 days ago. Should make more of a splash here.

Forecasts

Inforapenny (5/1), Warm In Gorey (5/1), Hard Target (6/1), The Mass Path (13/2), Farrokh (13/2), Garde La Peche (17/2), Pebble Bleu (12/1), New Barn Lane (14/1), Whotookthebiscuit (14/1), Grangeclare Native (16/1), Kilbrin Rocco (20/1), In A Nice Way (22/1), Angelofthemorning (125/1)

Verdict

In an open-looking beginners chase it could pay to side with THE MASS PATH, who ran in points early in his career and is seemingly threatening to come good judged on his latest effort at Limerick. He can make a winning start over fences at the expense of Farrokh, who shaped well when third on his chase debut at Tramore last week. Warm In Gorey can edge out Garde la Peche for the bronze medal.
