Very useful form shown in bumpers and scored readily on his hurdles debut in 2m Uttoxeter maiden 24 days ago. The one to beat with more to come.

Showed promise on his debut in February 2023 but has failed to repeat that form in a trio of outings subsequently, sixth of nine on his hurdling bow over 2m here 10 days ago. More is required.

In need of experience in 2 bumpers but has failed to complete both starts in maiden hurdles, losing touch before 2 out when pulled up at Hereford (19.7f) last time. Easy enough to look elsewhere.

Forecasts

Valgrand (1/4), Speed Davis (7/2), Touchwoodexpress (12/1), Brockarno (80/1), We Ain't Walking (80/1), Fennella (125/1), After Midnight (250/1)

Verdict

Dan Skelton's VALGRAND scored in good style on his hurdling bow at Uttoxeter and rates a confident choice to defy a 7 lb penalty and follow up. Hexham fourth Speed Davis appeals as the one to chase him home, with We Ain't Walking looking best equipped to take minor honours.
