Lakes Luxury Loos Handicap Hurdle

Remains a maiden (0-16 overall) but will surely put that right soon enough judged on his latest effort in a handicap chase at Sedgefield (21f, good) where he found just one too good. 4 lb higher back hurdling but his mark is still an attractive one and a bold show is anticipated.

Successful twice here in 2021 and, though winless since, his mark is on the slide and he went close over C&D on his penultimate start last August. However, well held on his sole subsequent start and is probably best watched following a 6-month break.

Runner-up 3 times on the bounce in 2023 and finally opened hurdles account at Musselburgh (3m, soft) in November. Good run of form has come to a halt the last twice, though, and he needs to get back on track.

Back on the scoresheet at Wetherby in April 2023 made the frame on several subsequent outings that year, including twice over this C&D. Below par since returning from a break in January but the handicapper is showing mercy and he'll be a threat if the recent wind op has had the desired effect.

Just one win from his 17 appearances over hurdles and he's readily passed over back from a 13-month layoff.

Back to winning ways at Catterick in January and only narrowly failed to follow up in 7-runner handicap there a month later. However, form has dipped pretty badly of late and hopes pinned on the change of scenery (makes debut for new yard here) helping to spark a return to form.

Put in a good shift when runner-up in a Downpatrick handicap chase (19.4f, good) last month but it remains to be seen if this Irish raider will be able to back that up now returned to hurdles.

Well held in bumper/completed start over hurdles and will need to improve beyond recognition now upped in trip on this handicap debut.

Much-improved switched to handicaps during the winter, dead-heating at Fontwell on Boxing Day and also successful at Southwell (24.3f, soft) when last seen in February. Nudged up just 2 lb and he has to enter calculations.

Picked up for only £1,500 after failing to click for Neil Mulholland but firmly back on track for this yard in second half of last year, scoring over this C&D and at Kelso. Latest fourth at the latter course was a fair effort but one which suggested that he's perhaps a shade too high in the weights.

Regained the winning thread at Hexham this time last year and this 12-y-o didn't do much wrong when third in a big-field Kelso handicap (21f, good) 19 days ago. That was his first run following an 8-month absence, so he's entitled to come on for it.

Successful twice on the level last spring and overcame market weakness to make a winning handicap hurdle debut in 8-runner event over 17.2f here last August. Has failed to complete both subsequent starts and his stamina has to be taken on trust.

Yet to strike over hurdles but he's only had 5 attempts and arrives here on the back of a good run of form on the Flat, winning twice. Will be a danger to all if able to continue the good work back in this sphere.
