7/4

Fairly useful chaser at best for Henry de Bromhead during 2021/22. Not at same level these days but he did turn in his best effort for present connections when second of 11 in handicap chase here (19.5f) 4 weeks ago, no extra close home. Claims with a repeat.

Ferrybridge^h⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Lily Pinchin| T: James Owen| OR: 92

2/1

A fair winning hurdler/chaser who was left clear at the last when opening his account in a handicap chase at Huntingdon (16.5f, good to soft) in March. Respectable third from this mark at Hereford (2m) 9 days ago and likely to give it another good go.

11/4

Career best when winning 5-runner handicap chase at Plumpton (25.7f, good) in 2022. Missed whole of last year and belatedly showed he retains ability when fourth of 12 at Taunton (21.7f) 3 weeks ago. On a career-low mark if he can back that up now.

Form: 21/PP44-

Berlais Du George⁴⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: M G Nolan| T: J W Mullins| OR: 82

7/1

Encouraging signs when fourth in novice on hurdles debut at Plumpton in October but gone wrong way since, finishing well held on handicap debut at same course latest. Plenty to prove over larger obstacles here.

Forecasts

Kalkas (7/4), Ferrybridge (2/1), Call Off The Dogs (11/4), Lone Soldier (11/4), Blaze A Trail (9/2), Berlais Du George (7/1)

LONE SOLDIER showed more than previously over hurdles equipped with a first time tongue strap when third at Wetherby (2m) in March and he could be worth chancing to build on that from his low mark now his attentions switch to larger obstacles. Kalkas and Ferrybridge may emerge as the chief threats.
