Fair hurdler but still a maiden and he was pulled up in handicap hurdle at Doncaster (19.4f) when last seen in December. However, freshened up since and pick of his form in this sphere gives him sound claims of being involved.

Won the first of his 2 starts in points but hasn't cut a great deal of ice in 3 starts over hurdles, left in a remote second at the last when runner-up at Ayr (19.5f, heavy) in February. Longer trip may help now with a tongue strap added.

Back-to-back wins in bumpers at Bangor in December and solid start over hurdles, matching previous best when runner-up in a Bangor maiden (19.5f) 7 weeks ago. Increase in trip promises to suit here and he should prove tough to beat.

Showed some promise in bumpers but yet to do the same over hurdles and much more needed returned to maiden company following an 83-day break.

Shaped with definite promise over fences this time last year but little to shout about over hurdles either side of that and he's failed to complete on each of his last 3 starts over larger obstacles. Passed over returned to timber. Cheekpieces on 1st time.

Forecasts

Guard The Moon (4/11), Didnt Ask (11/2), Boomslang (7/1), Kian Calling (25/1), Robert d'Ores (40/1), Eastern Storm (50/1)

Verdict

GUARD THE MOON comfortably brings the most appealing profile to the table and, with the step up in trip promising to suit NIgel Twiston-Davies 6-y-o, he should prove tough to beat. Boomslang, back from a break, rates the chief danger.
