made excellent start over fences when winning handicap at Ayr (by 1½ lengths from Euchan Falls) in December. hasn't progressed since, though out of depth when well-beaten last of 5 to Apple Away in listed mares event at Perth on return from 4-month absence last time.

Landed the odds on his third start over hurdles in 3-runner novice at Lingfield (2m, heavy). Disappointed on handicap debut at Wincanton last month though very much the type to make a chaser.

Has the physique for chasing and bettered his hurdles form at the first attempt when making a successful debut in this sphere at Catterick, making most. Lasted a long time after forcing the pace when fifth of 10 at Carlisle (15.9f, heavy) 34 days ago last month and has good chance on form.

Made winning chase debut over C&D in October and in first-time cheekpieces, got back on track to some extent when fourth of 7 in handicap chase at Kelso (17.1f, soft, 11/4) 62 days ago. Not discounted if able to build on that.

Has taken longer than expected to put it all together as a chaser but finally managed to get off the mark under a more patient ride when winning a 12-runner handicap chase at this C&D (heavy) 19 days ago. In the mix again from 9 lb higher mark.

Overcame inexperience when springing a 25/1 surprise in 19f Catterick novice hurdle on New Year's Day. Back on track at Southwell but offered little making chasing/handicap debut from 8 lb out of the weights at Kelso in March.

Far from straighforward but showed improved form after the application of a visor to win at Newcastle in February. Creditable effort there on next start and all but came down there when last seen, so isn't ruled out if putting his best foot forward.

Forecasts

Home Free (3/1), Five Dollar Fine (7/2), Chase A Fortune (9/2), Chapel Green (9/2), Take Centre Stage (15/2), Backbyjet (10/1), Aubis Walk (16/1)

Verdict

CHASE A FORTUNE has made a pleasing start to his chasing career and tied up only late after forcing the pace in testing conditions at Carlisle last time, so is fancied to build on that promising effort to notch a second win over fences. Five Dollar Fine is respected after his recent C&D win, whilst the quirky Take Centre Stage is worth treating as if still in form and shouldn't be ruled out.
