Took advantage of his reduced mark at Newcastle (10.2f) in April. Failed to repeat that effort when seventh of 9 in handicap at the same course (12.4f) 8 days later, but he remains feasibly treated on old form.

Twelve runs since last win in 2022. After 6 months off, below form when seventh of 12 in handicap at Pontefract (8f, heavy, 14/1) 30 days ago. Lurks on a dangerous mark as he goes back up in trip.

Some promise in turf bumper (well backed)/minor events but never dangerous sent handicapping when sixth of 8 at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 54 days ago, slowly away. However, he could yet do better now back on turf.

Fair form in this sphere in 2022 (trained by Jimmy Fox). Has only had 3 starts over hurdles since for his current yard, absent 11 months (had wind op) before sixth of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (16.9f, soft, 25/1) 68 days ago.

Forecasts
Midnight Lion (15/8), Pol Roger (9/4), Sycamore Gap (4/1), Rose Donnelly (7/1), I Doubt That (9/1)
Having shaped well in a couple of minor events, SYCAMORE GAP wasn't able to improve straight away switched to a handicap at Wolverhampton last time, but he's well worth another chance on turf. He's bred to be suited by this longer trip and can get the better of handicap-debutante Rose Donnelly, with Midnight Lion also in the mix.
