Fair form over hurdles. Not disgraced in 2 handicaps since returning from a long absence and being eased 2 lb can only help.

Looks to be being brought along steadily, posting a good second to Ballynaheer on his handicap debut at Huntingdon (2m4f, soft) 24 days ago. Enjoys a 6 lb pull in the weights now and is expected to be bang there.

Modest maiden on the Flat and he hasn't offered much in this sphere, sixth of 8 in juvenile hurdle at Fakenham (16f, good to soft, 28/1) 24 days ago. Up in trip for his handicap debut with plenty more to do.

Finished fourth in a point but little show in novice/maiden hurdles, a remote fourth in 2m4f Market Rasen novice last time. Has work to do now going handicapping.

Forecasts

Copernic Du Mazet (11/4), Ballynaheer (4/1), Lifetime Legend (6/1), Halligator (13/2), Saxons Lane (7/1), Ideal De Romay (9/1), Quian (9/1), Sir Cilia (10/1), Copper Fox (14/1), Gms Prince (16/1), Nothinelsematters (25/1), Magna Moralia (33/1)

Verdict

Not nearly so competitive as the numbers suggest and COPERNIC DU MAZET is fancied to build on his recent Huntingdon second and get the better of Ballynaheer this time on these 6 lb more advantageous terms. David Dennis' scorer could still emerge as the main danger though, with handicapping debutant Saxons Lane also well in the mix.
