Off time: 16:15 | Winning time: 4m 1.90s

Panjari^p⁵²

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Freddie Gingell⁽⁵⁾| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 127| D

11/4

Useful on Flat in Germany and has been quick in getting the hang of hurdling, cheekpieces fitted when readily landing 6-runner novice at Musselburgh (15.6f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Struggled in Dovecote at Kempton next time but this is more realistic.

Dartmoor Pirate³⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-9| J: Ben Godfrey⁽³⁾| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 123

6/4

Winning hurdle debut at Wincanton (15f, heavy) in December and better form in defeat since, notably his excellent fourth of 17 in very competitive EBF Final at Sandown 5 weeks ago, looking well suited by the step up to 2½m. Strong claims.

Form: 7-71224

Denemethy^t²⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien

4/1

Irish point winner who was runner-up on bumper debut in November. Much better effort over hurdles when landing novice easily at Wincanton 20 days ago and deserves respect under a penalty.

Form: 421-271

Patriotik¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-9| J: Isabel Williams⁽³⁾| T: Evan Williams| OR: 124| C

9/2

Won a 2-finisher point in Ireland and stepped up on debut when landing a course novice readily last time. Drop back in trip shouldn't be an issue, so obvious player.

Form: 2F121

Risk De Pluie^t1²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-9| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: Ben Clarke| OR: 116

20/1

Winning Irish pointer who followed suit in 2m3f novice at Fontwell on Rules debut in January. Yet to build on that and has something to find.

Form: 071135

Mount Washington¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Jordan Nailor| T: Evan Williams

125/1

Showed a fair level of ability when third on first of 2 runs in bumpers but no encouragement so far as a hurdler (well behind Patriotik here last time).

Form: 3854

Miss Arvico

Age: 7| Weight: 10-9| J: Sean Houlihan| T: Sheila Lewis

250/1

Arvico mare. Dam multiple point winner. Doesn't make much appeal on paper.

Forecasts

Dartmoor Pirate (6/4), Panjari (11/4), Denemethy (4/1), Patriotik (9/2), Risk De Pluie (20/1), Mount Washington (125/1), Miss Arvico (250/1)

DARTMOOR PIRATE improved when fourth in a competitive handicap at Sandown last time and he's worth a chance to double his tally back in novice company/trip for all that Patriotik and Panjari are formidable dangers. Last-time-out winner Denemethy is also open to more progress.
