Thrived last summer landing four handicap chase contests either side of a fine second in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen in July. Career-high mark and more exacting company seemed to find him out in the autumn but freshened up ahead of this.

Won his first 5 chase starts and, having ended last term below his best, he enhanced his good record when fresh when second at Wetherby (19.4f) in October. Disappointed at Ascot (21f) a month later but on a handy mark if subsequent 106-day break has perked him up.

Maiden hurdle winner who showed much improved form to make winning chase debut at Ballinrobe (17f) in spring 2022. Pulled up final start for Enda Bolger at Tipperary later that year but starts out for yard with a good record with similar types and he's worth a second look.

Course winner who jumped superbly when taking apart a small field at Haydock (16.3f) in November. Well below that level next 2 starts but returned to form on back of wind surgery when second to an unexposed sort in Newbury handicap (16.4f) 8 days ago. Claims now he's back in the groove.

High-class chaser at best but hard to glean a great deal of encouragement from his exploits over hurdles/fences for Harry Whittington last season. Mark has tumbled if subsequent break/yard switch has had positive effect.

Dual novice hurdle winner who opened chase account over C&D in December and narrowly followed up at Doncaster later that month. Very disappointing in hat-trick bid at Plumpton (19.7f) 26 days ago, so he'll need to leave that in his wake if he's to figure.

REAL STONE left his 2 previous runs in his wake following wind surgery when beaten only by an unexposed rival at Newbury 8 days ago and he's of interest from what remains a workable mark now he's back on track. L'Impertinent is an intriguing runner for a yard that continues to impress with its runners in this sphere, whilst Mackenberg's record fresh always entitles him to respect.
