Play By The Rules^p,t⁷⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 12-0| J: David Noonan| T: N J Hawke| OR: 100WS

16/1

Aided by first-time cheekpieces when decisively taking 13-runner handicap hurdle at Taunton (19f, heavy) in March. Followed that with a good second at Hereford next time but hasn't fired so far this season.

Heritier^t³⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: Lizzie Quinlan| OR: 100| BF

9/2

Lightly raced for current yard and almost landed a gamble over fences at Sedgefield last time, finding only one too good. Lower rated in this sphere and is worth a chance to go one better.

Form: 912252

Beaumesnil^b²⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: Nathan Moscrop| T: S Corbett| OR: 95

5/1

Unreliable sort. 4/1 and blinkered for 1st time, creditable second of 6 in handicap hurdle at Catterick (19.3f, soft) 27 days ago, outbattled. Hard to know if he'll be in the same mood here.

Form: 424572

Kinder Kid²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: S Mulqueen| T: Miss T Jackson| OR: 92

6/1

Third in a point and steadily building up to something under Rules, again showing more when fourth in a C&D novice earlier in the month. Not discounted on handicap bow.

Form: 3/654

Sailed Away^t²³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Fergus Gillard| T: S Edmunds| OR: 86| BF

6/4

Arrives in good order, finding his stamina slightly stretched when third at Market Rasen last time. This lesser test should suit and he's very much one to consider.

Form: 7-24523

Righteous Ruane⁸⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: Sam Coltherd| T: J S Wainwright| OR: 83

80/1

Poor hurdler who didn't show much on debut for new yard at Carlisle 88 days ago. Needs to up his game on handicap debut.

Form: P8FP64

Ballynagran^b,t²⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 10-10| J: Craig Nichol| T: Miss J E Foster| OR: 82| C

40/1

Notched second success when narrowly landing a Hexham handicap chase off this mark last May. However, he's none too consistent and has offered little in subsequent starts. Returns to hurdling, now.

Form: 1PPP75

Missy Ava³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 10-8| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: M Walford| OR: 80

25/1

Comfortably held in novice hurdles but pedigree gives her some scope for improvement, so not completely ruled out.

Form: 778

Lifetime Adventure¹¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-7| J: Alan Doyle⁽⁵⁾| T: A B Hamilton| OR: 79

16/1

Modest maiden hurdler who shaped better than the distance beaten when sixth at Uttoxeter on penultimate outing. Unseated at Musselburgh since but still worthy of respect.

Form: 98P26U

Walk My Way⁴⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-2| J: Emma Smith-Chaston⁽³⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 67

11/1

Failed to threaten between the flags and yet to offer much over hurdles. Others preferred.

Form: 5P-4P65

Forecasts

Sailed Away (6/4), Heritier (9/2), Beaumesnil (5/1), Kinder Kid (6/1), Brandt (7/1), Western Jill (10/1), Walk My Way (11/1), Getaway With You (14/1), Lifetime Adventure (16/1), Play By The Rules (16/1), Hawk Stone (16/1), Missy Ava (25/1), Ballynagran (40/1), Righteous Ruane (80/1)

HERITIER was runner-up having attracted support over fences at Sedgefield and he's back off his lower hurdles mark now, so he's fancied to open his account for his current yard. Sailed Away is a big threat dropped back in trip and Brandt is one to note on his first handicap outing.
