Well beaten in 2 bumpers but more like it following switch to hurdling, fourth at Lingfield in December and in process of running well when falling 3 out at Exeter (16.7f) 4 weeks ago. Possible she could have more to offer.

Failed to beat a rival home on her introduction at Uttoxeter (15.8f) but she showed more spark under a more positive ride when second in a 4-runner bumper over the same C&D 11 months ago. Makes hurdle debut.

Winner of sole start between the flags and improved on previous bumper efforts (in first-time blinkers) when landing 6-runner contest at Ayr (2m) in good style 2 weeks ago. Makes appeal now hurdling with Brian Hughes again booked.

Didn't kick on in bumpers but matched previous hurdles best when filling runners-up spot at Wetherby (2m) 25 days ago, bumping into an above-average sort off the Flat. Expected to play a lead role here.

Runner-up on second of 2 starts in Irish points (Dec 10). Little immediate encouragement when well beaten on Rules/bumper debut at Wetherby (2m) last month. Likely to need time and distance (bred to stay well).

Timeform
Displayed a good turn of foot when making a winning debut in a Kelso bumper in September and ran to a similar level when sixth under a penalty at Newcastle last month. Makes hurdles debut and may emerge best of the McCain pair.

Useful 1m winner on Flat for Joseph O'Brien. Changed hands for 45,000 gns in October and possible she needed the run after 5 months off when fifth of 14 in juvenile maiden at Hereford (16.2f, soft) 2 weeks ago. In receipt of weight all round and this should reveal more.

Forecasts

Pitwood Road (8/15), Strong Belle (3/1), Ma Belle Artiste (10/1), Jackeline (12/1), Yougoglencoko (16/1), Miss Maverick (16/1), Bob O Rhino (50/1), Wrappedinrubies (150/1), Big Ange (150/1)

Verdict

PITWOOD ROAD built on the promise of her bumper debut effort when scoring in good style at Ayr 15 days ago and, very much the type to make her mark over hurdles, she's fancied to make a bold bid again partnered by Brian Hughes. Strong Belle, who chased home an above-average sort off the Flat at Wetherby latest, is also firmly in the mix.
