22/1

€13,000 3-y-o, £5,000 5-y-o, Westerner gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful 2¾m hurdle winner Ballyblack and fair hurdler Quarry Girl. Yet to score between the flags and blinkers applied for Rules debut.

Form: P-P2423

Iskandar Pecos^p¹⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Huw Edwards⁽⁵⁾| T: Miss Roach

2/5

Mutiple point winner who posted an encouraging second of 8 in hunter chase (7/1) at Haydock (22.2f, heavy) on NH debut 10 days ago. Hard to oppose.

Form: 11-3312

The Creadan Rogue⁴⁴

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Toby McCain-Mitchell⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss Roach| OR: 96

15/2

Limited impact for Gordon Elliott and, while a multiple point winner (third last time), his latest outing (9 months ago) in this sphere was poor. Makes debut for new yard.

Form: 1-251P3

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Paddy Barlow⁽⁵⁾| T: J R Barlow| OR: 75

13/2

Scored several times in points but his exploits under Rules have been very disappointing, distant fourth when last seen at Huntingdon in May,

11/1

Winning pointer who posted his best effort under Rules when second in this contest last year. Fit from a point last month (fell late on), he may be able to get in the shake-up again.

Grenadine Save^p1¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-5| J: Miss Amber Jackson-Fennell⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss A Jackson-fennell

Mutiple point winner last year but was very limited over hurdles for Richard Hobson and finished well held on sole outing between the flags this term.

Form: P121-14

Forecasts

Iskandar Pecos (2/5), The Whistle Blower (13/2), The Creadan Rogue (15/2), Ultra Viers (11/1), I Like Oats (22/1), Fine Investment (33/1), Grenadine Save (66/1)

It's hard to get away from ISKANDAR PECOS, who ran a cracker on his Rules debut in a stronger contest at Haydock recently. Fine Investment and Ultra Viers may be the ones to chase him home.
