Progressive 3-time winner during novice season and, built on several solid efforts this term when landing 9-runner Wetherby handicap (19.7f) 4 weeks ago, bad mistake 2 out but rallying to lead again final 100 yds. Well worth considering again from 5 lb higher mark.

Useful chaser who made an encouraging return after a patchy 2022/23 campaign when third in Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter. However, below best all 3 starts since (including in cheekpieces latest) and return to hurdling from his lower mark needs to revitalize him.

Bumper winner who landed first 2 starts over hurdles last term and enhanced his form when second in Grade 2 on reappearance at Chepstow. Below best on handicap debut at Cheltenham next time but back to form when third at Aintree (20f) 46 days ago.

10-y-o who scored three times during 2021/22 campaign (over fences and hurdles). Absent since finishing third at Newbury (20.5f) 14 months ago but he lines up here operating from last winning mark and yard amongst the winners.

Three-time hurdle winner who ran a cracker when third in last season's Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton. Well held having forced the pace in this year's renewal and whilst this less demanding, others appeal more for win purposes on balance.

French recruit who made a winning return/yard debut at Lingfield in November prior to chasing home another improving sort on handicap debut at Sandown (2m) in December. Excuses next time and fell first back at Lingfield 3 weeks ago. Likely he has a bigger effort in his locker.

Bumper winner who opened his account over hurdles in a Sedgefield novice (19.8f) back in 2022. However, evidently not been the easiest to train and shaped as if needing the run back from 15 months off at Wincanton (15.2f) in December. This should reveal more.

Exeter bumper winner who has been shaping up well in defeat over hurdles in recent months, again finding only one too good at Wincanton (21.4f, heavy) 5 weeks ago. No surprise to see him go well again in first-time cheekpieces.

SANTOS BLUE gained reward for his consistency and was deserving of extra credit when resuming winning ways at Wetherby recently, rallying well to regain the lead having made a mistake 2 out (rider also lost irons). He looks sure to go well again and earns the vote. Bucksy des Epeires has more races in him from his present mark and he's a danger, with Astronomic View and Resplendent Grey others to consider.
