Has shown improved form switched to front-running tactics, making it four wins at Kelso in 5 starts when successful there in November. However, ran no sort of race at Newbury last time, albeit unable to lead. Bounce back called for having another outing away from Kelso.
Won twice over hurdles for current yard last season and has been going the right way in his 3 starts over fences so far, not helped by a bad mid-race mistake when second of 4 in novice handicap at Hereford last time. Remains with potential and can open his chase account.
Landed small field handicaps at Perth/Kelso during the summer and ran well when second at latter-named venue in October. Bled when below form next time, but was better than he could show when falling here on New Year's Day. Interesting with his recent run behind him.
Made a winning return at Kelso last season and took a step back in the right direction when third at this C&D on his first start of the current campaign. However, hasn't gone on from that in 2 starts since, so others are more persuasive at present.
Useful hurdles/chase winner for Willie Mullins. Down the field on final 3 starts for Patrick Neville but has offered more on his last 2 outings for his current yard, third of 5 in handicap chase at Kelso in December. Can give his running again.
Made light of a 30-month absence when landing 4-runner handicap chase at this C&D in November. Not in the same form when falling at the last at Newcastle (20.1f) next time, but had still been close up 4 out before weakening. Merits consideration back down in trip.
Dual hurdles winner for Sandy Thomson who made the frame on his first 5 starts over fences, off 22 months ahead of joining his current yard this season. However, has run below form on his last 2 outings so he needs to get back on track returned to this shorter trip.

Forecasts
Beau Balko (5/4), Dreams Of Home (4/1), Ganapathi (13/2), Cedar Hill (8/1), Mint Gold (9/1), Bollingerandkrug (10/1), Overcourt (14/1)
A fairly useful winner over hurdles, BEAU BALKO hasn't quite matched that level in 3 starts over fences so far, but he still remains capable of better as a chaser having made a bad mid-race mistake (jumped fine otherwise) at Hereford last time. He is taken to go one better, with Cedar Hill feared most with his recent run behind him. Mint Gold is also considered.
