Dual winner last spring and wasn't beaten far back from a break at Carlisle (21f, soft). Ultimately promised more than he delivered that day but this drop back in trip looks a potentially good move and he's on a workable mark.

Dual winner in first campaign over fences last term and made the frame first 2 starts of present campaign. Latest effort at Doncaster was poor but the handicapper has been quick to offer respite and he's not ruled out.

On a very attractive mark based on hurdles exploits a few seasons back but his wellbeing has to be taken on trust now switched to fences for a new yard following a 2-year absence.

Did very well in his first season chasing last term, winning twice over 2½m at Huntingdon. Runner-up all 3 starts this time round, most recently over 21.2f at Fakenham (heavy), and another bold show is anticipated.

Hurdles winner last term and, following a 7-month break, he made a successful start over fences at Fakenham (21.2f, soft) in November. Possibly unsuited by the testing conditions over the same C&D since and claims if able to get back on track with cheekpieces enlisted.

Maiden hurdle winner on Rules debut back in March 2021 but little impact in various race-types since, including 5 starts in this sphere. Readily passed over on this debut for new connections.

Forecasts

William Cody (13/8), Grey Skies (10/3), Scene One (7/2), That'll Be The Day (15/2), Maninsane (8/1), Nordano (25/1)

Verdict

WILLIAM CODY is taken to deservedly get his head back in front having found just one too good on each of his 3 starts since returning to action in November. He perhaps found 21.2f on deep ground too much of a test at Fakenham last time and the drop back in trip/better ground here will be helpful. Similar remarks apply to Scene One, who was pulled up in the same Fakenham race but he remains of interest nonetheless. Maninsane is third choice ahead of Grey Skies.
