Fairly useful hurdler who made a winning start over fences in 3-runner handicap chase at Newbury (23.4f, soft) in March. However, failed to complete all 3 starts since so bit to prove now.

Strong in the betting when taking advantage of a much-reduced mark a Doncaster 3 weeks ago, a breathing operation and fitting of a first-time tongue tie presumably the catalyst. Hit with an 8 lb rise though did have plenty in hand that day. Respected.

Made a winning start for Kerry Lee here (23.8f) in March and followed up in emphatic fashion at Hereford 3 weeks later. Picked up where she left off having joined Nigel Twiston-Davies when easily making all at latter track on return before overdoing the front-running tactics there 3 weeks ago.

All 4 of his wins over fences have come here, including when bouncing back to form from 5 lb out of the handicap over 23.8f 16 days ago. Races off only 2 lb higher now and always worth a second look at this track.

Forged clear to land a gamble from a much-reduced mark at Ffos Las on return. Not in same form under a penalty at Market Rasen since but could get back on track after more of a break.

Forecasts

Haut Folin (5/4), Tide Times (3/1), Kestrel Valley (9/2), Bridge North (15/2), Innisfree Lad (17/2)

Verdict

The progressive KESTREL VALLEY is well worth another chance from his revised mark having overdone the front-running tactics teaming up with a 7-lb claimer for the first time at Hereford 3 weeks ago. Haut Folin is another who had excuses on the back of a convincing reappearance win so is the obvious threat.
