Paddy Power Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Hard to predict but proved he retains his ability when second in Premier Handicap here (27.3f) on return and far from disgraced when fifth in Coral Gold Cup at Newbury 2 weeks later.

Successful in handicaps at Thurles/Sandown prior to a fine second in the Kim Muir at the Festival here in March. May have found Irish National coming too soon the following month but hasn't threatened in 3 starts this season. Headgear now applied.

Evidently had his problems but came back from a long absence to show promise in a couple of starts over fences last season and built on those after a further 7 months off when runner-up in handicap hurdle here. Found Paddy Power Gold Cup too competitive since and worth a try at this longer distance.

Lightly-raced winner over hurdles who confirmed promise of his chase debut effort when winning 11-runner handicap at Newbury (23.4f, good to soft). Progressed again when defying 10 lb higher mark over slightly further there last month and remains one to keep on the right side of.

Temperamental sort who ended his losing run at Perth in April. However, was once again let down by his jumping when respectable fifth on return here in October.
