Has a quirky side, but it isn't stopping her at present, winning 3 of her 4 starts since switching to handicap hurdles. A further 6 lb rise makes life harder but further progress can't be discounted.

Age: 6|  Weight: 12-0| J: Tom Midgley| T: M Walford| OR:  96
Bumper winner but yet to really kick on over hurdles. Should be sharper for last month's Newcastle reappearance, though, and being dropped a further 2 lb can only help.

Age: 4|  Weight: 11-12| J: P W Wadge(3)| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR:  95
Built on his handicap debut fourth of 19 on reappearance when seeing off 7 rivals over 2½m in the mud at Hexham last month. Should be more to come from him now stepping up to 3m.

Modest in bumpers and similar standard in novice hurdles at up to 2½m. More chance now handicapping and he's bred to be suited by this longer trip.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-11| J: Charlotte Jones| T: Paula Smith| OR:  93| D
Resumed with encouraging third at Haydock last season but left Matt Sheppard after finishing fifth at Warwick a year ago and has struggled in 3 outings for current yard. Has lots to prove.

Fortunate winner of a 5-runner novice at Sedgefield in April but no luck about her 23f Market Rasen handicap success 3 weeks ago. Unexposed as a stayer and much respected off 4 lb higher.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: Bruce Lynn| T: M Walford| OR:  84
Modest maiden who weakened to finish well held on her 21f course reappearance in October. Still relatively unexposed but others arrive with much more pressing claims.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Joe Anderson| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  82| BF| D
Irish point winner who landed a gamble in 7-runner handicap at Plumpton (25f, soft, 4/1) last month, suited by the increase test of stamina. Backed that up when second at Taunton (3m) 10 days later. Another 5 lb higher here but still respected.

Age: 5|  Weight: 10-10| J: Emma Smith-Chaston(3)| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  78
Still looking for first success but has been runner-up over 3m at Hexham on her last 2 outings. This looks more competitive so perhaps playing for minor honours at best again.

Poor maiden handicap hurdler who was well held at Newcastle last month. Others are more obvious.

Poor maiden but was third over fences at Newcastle last month and yet to be asked for effort when unseating 3 out at Hexham since. Reverts to hurdles now.

Age: 7|  Weight: 10-5| J: Conor Rabbitt| T: P D Niven| OR:  73
Reached the frame twice over C&D last spring but off since a lesser run at Southwell in April and this long-standing maiden is probably best watched this time.

Age: 11|  Weight: 10-3| J: Edward Austin| T: J Bedi| OR:  71| CD
Returned to winning ways with a narrow success at Market Rasen last December. Not in the same form since, but now 5 lb below that winning mark so dangerous if staging a revival.

Too free after 8 months off when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, heavy) 49 days ago. Should step forward now but others are still preferred.

Forecasts

Clovis Boy (7/2), Shewearsthewellies (4/1), It's Maisy (5/1), Abbeyhill (5/1), You Say Its Over (10/1), Perculator (14/1), My Strong Man (16/1), Eveque (20/1), Storm Force One (20/1), Oliver's Island (20/1), Amber Gold (20/1), Knacker Trapper (20/1), Invincible De Mee (25/1), One Fer Mamma (25/1)

Verdict

IT'S MAISY relished the step up to around 3m when making a successful start to her handicap career at Market Rasen and is narrowly preferred to fellow lightly-raced improver Clovis Boy. The thriving Shewearsthewellies and Neil Mulholland's Abbeyhill are others likely to have a say.
