Made up into a smart novice chaser when a 3-time winner, including in Ascot Grade 2. Fell at the first at Kelso on return last season but showed no ill effects when defying top weight in handicap at Cheltenham. Decent third in Denman Chase at Newbury since and respected again after 10 months off.

Different proposition over fences, completing the 4-timer on reappearance here (19.4f) last season. Beaten only by L'Homme Presse in the Rehearsal at Newcastle before quickly resuming winning ways in this 12 months ago. Excuses in Ultima at Cheltenham final start and expected to bounce back.
|
Back to form when landing a 4-runner listed chase at Kelso (3m, good to soft) in March. Creditable 4¼ lengths third of 6 to Elvis Mail on 3¼m reappearance there, jumping boldly and racing with plenty of zest. Likely to go well with that under his belt (luckless in this 2 years ago).

Fine start to last season, scoring here (19.4f) on return prior to finding just one too good over same C&D on Boxing Day. However, let down by jumping last 3 starts, including when respectable third at Newbury on comeback.
|
Benefited from step up to 25.6f when landing a valuable Haydock handicap on her reappearance last season. Ended that campaign on a downer but was well backed ahead of her return at Sandown 17 days ago (overjumped and unseated rider at first).
|
Completed a hat-trick over fences at Carlisle on return last campaign and bidding for another hat-trick after winning the same race on this season's return, going clear of another thriving sort. However, more needed off 10 lb higher here in better race (3 lb out of weights).

Forecasts
Karl Philippe (11/4), Fontaine Collonges (10/3), Empire Steel (7/2), Into Overdrive (11/2), Houston Texas (6/1), Does He Know (15/2)
EMPIRE STEEL shaped as if as good as ever when third at Kelso on his return and can make amends for his luckless defeat in this 2 years ago. Into Overdrive had excuses in the Ultima at Cheltenham on his final start and was highly progressive prior to that, so rates a serious threat.
