Created a good impression when winning his first 3 starts over hurdles, including the Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown. Lesser efforts at Cheltenham/here followed and low-key return/chase debut effort at Chepstow in November. Cheekpieces go on/up in trip and too soon to write off.

Multiple hurdles winner who stepped up on those efforts when making an impressive winning chasing debut in a novice at Uttoxeter (2m) in October. Found things tougher when fourth on handicap debut at Ayr (16.5f) since but he remains open to improvement in this sphere. Back up in trip.

Won his first 4 completed starts over hurdles and mostly creditable efforts in competitive handicaps thereafter last term, not least when fifth here (20f) on final start in April. Record fresh a positive now and he's a good prospect for chasing, including when stepped up to 3m.

Irish point winner who tasted success 3 times over hurdles and showed benefit of chase debut experience when landing 4-runner Ascot handicap (18.8f) 32 days ago, coming in for an enterprising ride. Only 3 lb higher but this rates tougher.

Winning pointer/fairly useful hurdler who got off the mark at third attempt over fences at Doncaster (19.1f) 24 days ago. Quite what that form is worth is open to question (only 6 fences jumped) but he does remain lightly raced, including at this sort of trip.

Bumper/hurdles winner in France in 2021. Bit disappointing over hurdles last season but firmly back on track over fences, landing back-to-back Taunton handicaps (18f) in recent months. Assessor applies further pressure but unlikely he's reached his limit. Big shout.

HEROS has made a fine start over fences, landing back-to-back Taunton handicaps in recent weeks and he looks a big player in his hat-trick bid with the prospect of more to come. Harbour Lake, on chase debut, is an intriguing contender, with Chasing Fire another fancied to figure.
