Off time: 12:40 | Winning time: 4m 29.50s

Castelfort⁵⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 11-2| J: David Noonan| T: Mrs J Williams

10/11

Castle Du Berlais gelding who made an encouraging start to his career when 4 lengths second of 7 at Chepstow (2m, heavy) in October. Big player with improvement likely.

Form: 2

Galactic Jack^h1,t²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 11-2| J: J J Burke| T: Anthony Charlton

9/1

Useful on Flat (stays 1½m) for Andrew Balding. Badly hampered first and off the pace throughout when pulled up in Grade 2 at Cheltenham on hurdling debut last month (only start for Syd Hosie). This should hopefully reveal more. Cheekpieces off, first-time hood on.

Form: P

Goblet Of Fire¹⁰³

Age: 3| Weight: 11-2| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson

3/1

Won 3 of his last 4 starts on the Flat for Nigel Tinkler. They were low-grade events but he's joined a top yard ahead of hurdle debut and market confidence would look significant.

Form:

Ithaca's Arrow⁵⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 11-2| J: Ben Ffrench-Davis| T: D J S Ffrench Davis

10/1

Fairly useful on Flat (stays 1½m), recording creditable placed efforts in handicaps on his last 3 starts. Interesting recruit to hurdling.

Form:

Macari¹³

Age: 3| Weight: 11-2| J: M Goldstein| T: Miss S West

40/1

Modest form when mid-field in 2 bumpers last month. Likely outsider on hurdle debut

Form: 76

Royal Way¹³⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 11-2| J: Caoilin Quinn| T: G & J Moore

6/1

Fair Flat winner in Ireland. Stable no stranger to success in this race, including with the very smart Goshen in 2019, and this one would firmly enter the reckoning if the betting vibes are strong.

Form:

Zooks²⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 10-9| J: C J Todd| T: Ian Williams

80/1

Fair maiden on the Flat in France but didn't achieve much when a remote third of 4 in juvenile at Fakenham on her hurdle/stable debut 25 days ago.

Form: 3

Forecasts

Castelfort (10/11), Goblet Of Fire (3/1), Royal Way (6/1), Galactic Jack (9/1), Ithaca's Arrow (10/1), Macari (40/1), Zooks (80/1)

CASTELFORT is the percentage call on the back of his promising run at Chepstow, although a strong market move for hurdle newcomers Royal Way, whose trainer has won this 3 times since 2013, Ithaca's Arrow and Goblet of Fire would put a slightly different slant on things
