Act Of Authority³⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-6| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| CD

1/6

Point winner who was runner-up in both bumpers last season. Made a successful start to his hurdle career over C&D last month. Not disgraced when sixth of 8 in Cheltenham Grade 2 since and the one to beat with his sights lowered.

Form: 1/22-16

50/1

9/1, last of 6 in bumper at Chepstow (16f, heavy) on debut 24 days ago, pulling hard. Makes hurdles debut.

Form: 6

Gentle Victor¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: William Shanahan⁽⁵⁾| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero

22/1

Has more than hinted at ability but is possibly one who won't really come into his own until handicapping.

Form: 758

Molly's Third Man²⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: C Gethings| T: H D Daly

40/1

Comfortably held in 2 bumpers in the spring and similar story on last month's Warwick hurdle debut.

Form: 4-80

Panhandle Slim²⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Peter Kavanagh⁽³⁾| T: D McCain Jnr

9/2

Promising second in course bumper in October. Below that level when only fourth at Carlisle a month later but retains potential now hurdling.

Form: 624

Professor Higgins¹⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Bryan Carver| T: G Hanmer

66/1

Showed fair form when placed twice in bumpers but well held on last month's Doncaster hurdle debut.

Form: 3257

Tara Cove¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Theo Gillard| T: D McCain Jnr

28/1

Won 3 times from 7 outings in points but no impact in a pair of maiden hurdles in recent months.

Form: 1211-96

Special Dragon¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-7| J: Tristan Durrell⁽⁵⁾| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero

66/1

Kayf Tara half-sister to 2 winners on Flat. 40/1, held up and never a threat on debut in a Huntingdon novice hurdle last month. Best watched unless the betting hints at a better showing this time.

Forecasts

Act Of Authority (1/6), Panhandle Slim (9/2), Tedtwo (5/1), Gentle Victor (22/1), Sammy's Guarantee (25/1), Tara Cove (28/1), Molly's Third Man (40/1), Catch Him Derry (50/1), Gentleman (50/1), Special Dragon (66/1), Professor Higgins (66/1)

C&D winner ACT OF AUTHORITY sets a good standard for the rest to aim at and will likely be hard to beat. Bumper recruits Panhandle Slim and Tedtwo can give him most to do.
