Fairly useful winning chaser for Philip Hobbs who shaped encouragingly with a view to stepping back up in trip when fourth in a Carlisle novice hurdle (20f, soft) on debut for new yard 4 weeks ago, staying on run-in.
Dual winner last summer and ran best race in handicaps when second at Hexham (16.2f) in May. Not at best on 2 of last 3 starts though, fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Perth (20.2f, heavy) 58 days ago but his mark is easing at least. Up in trip.
Hurdles/chase winner who has been afforded a chance by the handicapper and she ran well back from 4 months off when third of 6 in handicap at Southwell (20.4f) 52 days ago. One to consider back up in trip.
Maiden hurdler/chaser who showed fair form at best for Colin A. McBratney. Out of sorts when last seen during the spring however, so interesting to see what the market makes of him starting out for new yard.
Dual winner at Stratford last season and sound start for new yard when second at Cartmel (25.4f) in July. Creditable third back at that venue a month later and no surprise to see her give another good account with her yard in fine form.
Ended last term in good form equipped with a visor (back on here), successful at Hexham prior to narrowly prevailing in this race 12 months ago. Low-key efforts initially this year but encouragement from last month's Wetherby effort. One to note operating 1 lb below last winning mark.
Held form pretty well so far this season, plugging on for fourth in 13-runner Musselburgh handicap (23.8f) 16 days ago. Each-way possibilities from 1 lb lower mark.

Forecasts
Could Be Trouble (16/5), Shantou Sunset (7/2), Balkotic (4/1), Dalileo (9/2), Onward Route (7/1), Golas Tiep (10/1), Keep Wondering (11/1)
Most arrive with claims in the opener and with that in mind it could be worth chancing last year's winner BALKOTIC. Though out of sorts this summer, there was encouragement to glean from his latest Wetherby effort and, with the visor back on, it would come as no surprise to see him go well operating 1 lb below his last winning mark. Could Be Trouble and Shantou Sunset for the James Moffatt stable are others to consider.
