Crossing The Bar^t²⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: R P McLernon| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 115

12/1

Successful twice over hurdles at Plumpton (both at 25f) during second half of last season. Probably needed the run after 6 months off but still went with little short-term encouragement sent chasing at Newton Abbot 4 weeks ago.

Form: U181-55

Gaboriot^p²⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-12| J: Craig Nichol| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 113| D

5/2

Took advantage of a much-reduced mark compared to his early days chasing in France as he won 3m Kempton handicap 4 weeks ago, holding on gamely. Can go well again up 3 lb.

Form: PU23-21

Lepashe¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: C J Todd| T: S Allwood| OR: 107| D

14/1

Point winner/fair hurdler who offered little tried chasing after 6 months off at Huntingdon recently. Yard remains quiet.

Form: 43420-P

Brave Starlight^t²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: B S Hughes| T: David Dennis| OR: 106| D

7/1

Winning Irish pointer placed on 2 of his 3 starts in hunters but no show on hurdles debut 3 weeks ago. Could do better back chasing and one to note with Brian Hughes up.

Form: PP1-32P

Crystal Moon^t³²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: A King| OR: 102| D

11/4

Jumped better as he got off the mark in 3m Huntingdon handicap chase on Boxing Day. That wasn't much of a race but unlikely this will take much winning either, so he's considered up 7 lb.

Form: 5303/21-

Head On^p⁴⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 10-13| J: David Bass| T: Ian Williams| OR: 100

7/1

Won 3 handicap chases in the early stages of the 2021-22 season. Easy to back and went with little short-term encouragement tried without a tongue strap after 19 months off at Bangor 7 weeks ago and bit to prove.

Form: 1P1P3/P

Forecasts

Gaboriot (5/2), Crystal Moon (11/4), Gentle Frank (4/1), Head On (7/1), Brave Starlight (7/1), Tango Boy (10/1), Crossing The Bar (12/1), Lepashe (14/1)

GABORIOT battled well to score at Kempton and remains well treated on the pick of his French form so could be good for the follow up. Crystal Moon, Brave Starlight and Gentle Frank can also have good cases made for them in a race that may not take much winning.
