Imposing sort who looked a strong stayer when making a winning debut for Ella Pickard at Chepstow last October. Followed up at Carlisle next time, but beaten a fair way on final start of last season (since undergone a wind op) and opposable starting out over hurdles in what looks a warm race.

Duly landed the odds when opening his account at the third attempt in bumpers last season. Very promising start over hurdles when just touched off over 15.8f here (soft) on return and likely to make a bold bid to go one better now faced with a stiffer test.
Fairly useful form in a couple of bumpers and shaped well on return/hurdles debut when third of 11 in a Uttoxeter maiden (2½m, good to soft) last month. Entitled to come on for that and should pick up a race in this sphere before long.
Successful sole start in Irish points and maintained unbeaten record with a bit in hand in 9-runner bumper at Hereford in April. This trip will suit and he looks a good hurdles prospect.
Camelot gelding who showed fairly useful form in winning twice at up to 1½m on the Flat in France in 2021. Changed hands for €250,000, but offered little on hurdles debut, albeit in Grade 2 company, at Kempton back in February 2022 and he's been absent since.
Fetched £40,000 after winning his sole start in Irish points during the spring. Interesting to see what the market makes of him ahead of this Rules debut.

Forecasts
Choccabloc (4/7), The Doyen Chief (10/3), Goonhilly (7/1), The Famous Five (18/1), Bullets Hill (22/1), Everyonesacritic (33/1)
CHOCCABLOC pulled clear of the rest when narrowly outpointed on his recent hurdles debut at this course and, with this step up in trip likely to help unlock improvement, he will take plenty of stopping. The Doyen Chief did the job well when making a successful start under Rules in a Hereford bumper and he could have a bright future in this sphere, while Goonhilly is best of the rest.
