Veteran who was useful at his best and confirmed he still has lots to offer when scoring at Chepstow (23.6f) 12 months ago. Hasn't been able to reproduce that effort in 4 subsequent starts but has been given a serious chance by the handicapper on return with cheekpieces reapplied.

Well backed and showed improved form when second in 3m Carlisle handicap on return in November 2021. However, not in the same form at Catterick 6 weeks later and hasn't been seen under Rules since (runner-up both start in points, latest 12 months ago). Market can guide expectations.

Irish point winner who also landed a 23f maiden hurdle at Worcester in July. Cut little ice on both subsequent starts there in handicaps but may still do better with few miles on the clock now stepping up in trip.

Has been off for 7 months since coming in last of 4 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (23.9f, heavy). Needs to hit the ground running on his reappearance.

Has upped his game since joining this stable, scoring comfortably at Fontwell in September. Disappointed at Uttoxeter next time but resumed progress with cheekpieces refitted when winning with a bit in hand at Ffos Las (23.9f, good to soft) last month. Respected despite a 7 lb rise.

Irish point winner who has finished well held in 3 runs over hurdles (latest here after 9 months off). Could easily prove a different proposition now handicapping over a longer trip.

Dual scorer over fences at Bangor in May 2021 and retains a bit of ability in the twilight of his career, finishing runner-up in big-field handicap at Uttoxeter (23.3f, soft) when last seen 6 months ago. Cheekpieces reapplied.

Poor maiden hurdler and little impact in 4 starts over fences, albeit leaving the impression he can make more of an impact at some point at Uttoxeter (24f, soft) last month. Back over timber here and is one to keep an eye on with first-time headgear applied.

Placed 3 times in 3m handicap chases in 2021-22 but yet to recapture that form, pulled up for the third time in last 4 starts when last seen here 6 months ago. Back over hurdles but it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Forecasts

Horizon D'or (13/8), Woodie Flash (7/2), Bobo Mac (11/2), R Bernard (15/2), Time For A Pint (8/1), Loch Garman Aris (14/1), Newtonian (14/1), Fevertre (18/1), My Last Oscar (22/1), Earcomesbob (40/1)

Verdict

Plenty in with chances and it could pay to side with veteran BOBO MAC, who failed to get competitive last term after scoring at Chepstow but has been given a major chance by the handicapper ahead of his return. Horizon d'Or has made a fine start to life with Adam West so he may well emerge as the main danger, with R Bernard and Woodie Flash another couple fancied to go well.
