Point winner who made a successful chase debut in handicap at Catterick (25.3f) last December. After a couple of below-par efforts, back on track when third at Ffos Las (25.3f) in April and he can be thereabouts if ready to go on his return.

10/3
Modest maiden hurdler but already a better chaser, making the frame for fourth successive start at Fontwell (21.6f) in May, that despite his jumping lacking polish. Yard have made a bright start this autumn and he's respected back from 6 months off.

Signed off 2021/22 on a winning note at Plumpton but he rarely stands much racing and struggling some way out when distant fifth of 6 on return at Fontwell (26f) 4 weeks ago. Tough to assess.

Winning Irish pointer at third attempt and promise to glean from her Southwell second on hurdles bow in March. May have found Hereford assignment coming too soon the following month and she's one to monitor closely in the betting now chasing. Handicap debut.

22/1
Irish point winner who stepped up on low-key hurdles debut when landing a Worcester maiden (2m) in May. However, following 3 months off he struggled in both of his starts in September, and again on chasing bow at Exeter (19.2f) 3 weeks ago.

Placed in points and left form of his chasing debut behind when scoring at Warwick 7 months ago. Type to do better still in this sphere, so merits plenty of respect.

Reliable chaser who got back to winning ways with plenty to spare at Bangor (3m) 4 weeks ago, jumping soundly. Yet to defy a mark this high but his consistency sure to stand him in good stead at this level.

Winning chaser who encouragingly backed up his previous run over hurdles when finishing good third of 5 in handicap chase at Plumpton (19.7f) 10 days ago. Each-way claims from this reduced mark.

Fair winning chaser but offered little last term and no upturn re-united with this yard back from 5 months off when fifth of 10 in handicap at Uttoxeter (3m, soft) 25 days ago.

Patchy record over jumps but with a tongue tie added, he finally capitalised on a plummeting mark to shed maiden tag here (19.5f) 24 days ago, reduced advantage last but finding extra on Flat. More on his plate back up in trip but he remains lightly raced in this sphere.

Winning hurdler in Ireland and posted best effort since joining this yard when second over fences at Huntingdon (23.6f, soft) in March. Not disgraced at Warwick (3m) final start but others make greater appeal on balance.

Justshortofabubble (11/4), Ballybeen (10/3), Martalmix'jac (5/1), Pilot Show (15/2), Striking Out (15/2), Guguss Collonges (9/1), Jack Doyen (9/1), Unai (11/1), Another Day Out (16/1), Hobie (22/1), Putdecashonthedash (33/1), Voice Of Hope (66/1)

Verdict

STRIKING OUT ran his best race for some time on the back of 12 weeks off when runner-up at Ludlow 7 days ago and with this longer trip entitled to hold no fears, he shades the vote to confirm the promise of that run operating from the same mark. This is competitive though, with Ballybeen, Jack Doyen and Justshortofabubble a trio of others expected to feature.
