Useful novice hurdler in 2021/22 who looked a smart recruit to chasing when winning at Haydock last November. Pulled up (reportedly bled) in Towton at Wetherby next time and similar story when reverting to hurdles when last seen in March. Needs to get back on track (has had a wind op).

Developed into a useful hurdler in 2021/22 and made a winning start over fences at Ffos Las (21f) last December. Back to winning ways with a devastating win in Kempton handicap in March and found only Gerri Colombe too strong in Grade 1 at Aintree in April. Had a wind op and looks the one to beat.

Useful hurdler who finished runner-up in 2½m Aintree Grade 1 on his final 2021/22 start. Ran up to his best when fourth in Martin Pipe at Cheltenham in March and despite a lesser effort at Compiegne since, he can make his mark in this small-field scenario on chasing debut.

Forecasts
Complete Unknown (4/5), Might I (6/4), Ballygrifincottage (8/1)
It's tough to get away from COMPLETE UNKNOWN, who found only Gerri Colombe too strong in the Grade 1 Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree 6 months ago and this looks a perfect opportunity for Paul Nicholls' 7-y-o to notch a third success over the larger obstacles. Might I is established as a smart hurdler and can chase home the selection on chase debut.
