Opened his account over fences at Worcester in May and hasn't looked back since, winning 3 of next 4 starts, including at Newton Abbot last month, jumping fluently. Will take the beating again.
Winner of 2 of his 5 starts over hurdles last year and performed with credit first 3 completed starts in this sphere. However, needs to shrug off a below par run at Stratford.
Opened his account in a weak race at Fontwell (21.8f). Found life harder back in handicap company at Exeter since. Chase debut.
Registered fourth victory of 2022 in a 4-runner Kelso handicap in October. Ended the year out of sorts, though, and well held last 2 starts after 8 months off.
Ended a lengthy losing sequence despite being 6 lb out of the weights at Wetherby (19.4f, good to soft) on Boxing Day. Good second back at that venue next time but well below best since.
Took advantage of tumbling mark to record first success since 2019/20 campaign at Market Rasen (19f) in June. However, well held next 2 starts and hard to know what to expect.

OPENING BID wasted no time getting back on track when taking his record this season to 4 wins from 5 starts at Newton Abbot last month and is preferred to Inch House, who was progressive over hurdles and has the profile to make a better chaser.
