Martin Keighley Racing Club Handicap Chase

Off time: 16:43 | Winning time: 5m 7.65s

Stumps Or Slips^t²⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Lewis Stones⁽³⁾| T: T H Weston| OR: 105| CD

4/1

Going the right way over fences now, impressing most with the strength of his finish when following up his Warwick success over this C&D in June. Hat-trick bid was too bad to be true so worth another chance.

Form: 53P1-1P

Imac Wood^t⁴¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: Chris Ward⁽³⁾| T: Deborah Cole| OR: 99

15/2

Dual chase winner in France early last year. Not at that level for this yard though shaped encouragingly from a reduced mark back over hurdles after a breathing operation/4 months off when third at Uttoxeter.

Form: P845P-3

Cotton End⁴⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 11-5| J: Sean Houlihan| T: Sheila Lewis| OR: 96| D

9/1

Losing run is mounting up but shaped better than the bare result when fourth of 7 in handicap chase (11/1) over this C&D (good to soft) 40 days ago, looking second best for a long way until a chance-ending error 3 out.

Form: 35P-344

Go Fox^h²⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: J M Quinlan| T: N B King| OR: 91

11/1

Took advantage of a much-reduced mark when successful at Fakenham in June and followed up at Stratford (17f) 16 days later. Just the one decent effort since but mark is at least easing again.

Form: 411F37

Decoration Of War⁴⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: Charlie Hammond| T: M Young| OR: 89

11/1

Showed little promise in 4 starts over fences last summer and shaped as if in need of the run when seventh in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen after 10 months off in June. Stuck in the mud next time but bit to prove back in this sphere.

Form: 3340-74

Dirk Gently^t,v⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-7| J: Bryony Le Clerc| T: D Killahena & G McPherson| OR: 84

7/2

Poor form when placed last 3 starts over hurdles. Lazy type who now makes his chase bow.

Form: 6PP3-33

Miss Antipova^p1⁴¹

Age: 11| Weight: 10-4| J: James Best| T: M Keighley| OR: 81

11/4

Remains winless following 21 attempts overall but this 11-y-o has certainly been knocking on the door in recent months, finding just one too good for the fifth consecutive start at Uttoxeter (2½m, good to soft) 6 weeks ago. Likely to be in the mix once more back down in trip in first-time headgear.

Form: P2-2222

My Boy Grizzle^h,t¹⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 10-2| J: Benjamin Poste| T: C Ellam| OR: 69

150/1

Looks of no account nowadays.

Form: 4/5P-PUP

Ocean's Of Money^t⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 10-2| J: Ben Jones| T: Mrs N S Evans| OR: 69

17/2

Still to register a victory and up against it from 10 lb out of the handicap.

Form: 003-655

Forecasts

Miss Antipova (11/4), Dirk Gently (7/2), Stumps Or Slips (4/1), Imac Wood (15/2), Ocean's Of Money (17/2), Cotton End (9/1), Decoration Of War (11/1), Go Fox (11/1), My Boy Grizzle (150/1)

MISS ANTIPOVA ran well to finish runner-up for the fifth successive start at Uttoxeter and the application of headgear may help her finally get her head in front. Stumps or Slips is a big threat if his latest run can be forgiven, while Imac Wood took a step back in the right direction over hurdles last time.
