Off mark in Irish points at third attempt and produced promising first effort over hurdles when second in a Hexham novice (20.1f) in May. Not quite in same form when filling same spot there a month later but could get back on track now handicapping up in trip with a tongue strap fitted.

Modest maiden who has shaped with little encouragement all 4 outings for current yard. Subsequent breathing operation needs to have had a positive effect.

Fared a bit better than of late back over hurdles when fourth of 11 in 23f handicap at Worcester 15 days ago, but is still easy enough to oppose from 8 lb out of the weights.

Forecasts

Basford (13/8), Imperial Data (9/4), Debden Bank (7/2), Begoodtoyourself (12/1), Chitchat Sally (14/1), Dynali (28/1)

Verdict

BASFORD is fully exposed but he saw off a subsequent winner in ready fashion at Fontwell last month and looks to have an excellent chance of following up in a thin handicap. Imperial Data was a shade disappointing last time bearing in mind his hurdling debut promise, but it remains early days and could get back on track now venturing into handicaps.
