8/1

Last 3 wins have come at this track, including twice last season. Decent third here last month but looked awkward at Carlisle 11 days ago. Back up in trip.

Feel The Need²⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: D Tudhope| T: D O'Meara| OR: 84| C

9/2

Fairly useful 7f juvenile winner who resumed after 7 months off/gelded with an excellent second of six in 7.5f Beverley handicap. Efforts since have been a bit underwhelming, however (high head carriage).

Form: 79-2463

Sophiesticate¹¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-3| J: P Mulrennan| T: J S Goldie| OR: 72| CD

17/2

Career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Musselburgh (12.5f, good) and backed that up with decent third at Carlisle. Respected.

Chriszoff⁴⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: L Morris| T: A Watson| OR: 82

13/2

Winner of 2 of his 3 starts. Made to work quite hard to defy a penalty on turf debut at Lingfield but retains potential up in trip on handicap bow.

Form: 511

(5)

Old Smoke^p1³⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-2| J: O J Orr| T: R A Fahey| OR: 81

9/2

Winner at Thirsk in April. 18/1, good sixth of 14 in London Gold Cup at Newbury (1¼m, good to firm). Might have found next run coming too soon so worth another chance with headgear applied.

Form: 322166

(2)

Venetian¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: J Fanning| T: C Johnston| OR: 80

9/2

Dual winner at 2 yrs and left reappearance run behind with placed efforts next 2 starts, headed only near the line when runner-up at Haydock (8.2f). Not in same form at Pontefract since but type to bounce back.

Form: 51-9326

Forecasts

Dubai Souq (3/1), Feel The Need (9/2), Old Smoke (9/2), Venetian (9/2), Chriszoff (13/2), Tilsitt (8/1), Sophiesticate (17/2)

Unexposed 3-y-o CHRISZOFF can complete the hat-trick on his handicap bow. Dubai Souq made a satisfactory comeback at Windsor after 11 months off and is entitled to be sharper here, while Venetian and Old Smoke are also players if shrugging off their latest efforts.
