Showed improved form when doubling his chase tally in 4-runner Newcastle handicap in November and back on track lately, runner-up at Hexham last time. Worth considering at a track where he's tasted success in the past.

12/1
Fair winner at 21f over hurdles but failed to match that level sent chasing last year and not a great deal of encouragement on first run since leaving Gordon Elliott at Market Rasen last time. Others preferred.

Maiden pointer but fair form so far over hurdles and has been placed on two of his last 3 starts, so not a forlorn hope.

Chase winner at Kelso over a year ago and has reached the frame on all 10 subsequent starts. Likely to be thereabouts again for all he remains opposable for win purposes (no battler). Visored for the first time.

Struck on debut for new yard at Stratford last August and has run well in defeat since, second of 5 at Plumpton 53 days ago. Should give another good account.

85/40
Little form over hurdles but much improved over fences this summer and landed (tongue strap on for 1st time) 10-runner handicap chase at Southwell (24.3f, good) 24 days ago. Weighted to go close again despite a 6 lb rise.

Forecasts

Prince Cleni (85/40), Spark Of Madness (7/2), Limerick Leader (6/1), Castletown (13/2), So Be It (11/1), Call Of The Loon (12/1), Sir Apollo (12/1), Fierami (12/1)

Verdict

PRINCE CLENI improved for a tongue strap when scoring at Southwell last month and, with few miles on the clock, he can do enough to defy a rise at the likely expense of Limerick Leader, who has taken well to chasing. Call of The Loon, a stablemate of the selection, is also worth considering.
