Fred And Edna Taylor Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 16:15 | Winning time: 5m 33.08s

Ballyquin Bay³⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: Mrs A C Hamilton| OR: 107

6/1

Failed to progress for Gordon Elliott but fair at his best, which sets the standard in this lowly affair, so worth considering on debut for new yard.

Form: 3246-53

Big In Milan^p1,t1¹³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: B S Hughes| T: J EwartWS

12/1

€15,000 3-y-o, Milan gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Strike West and modest hurdler Belle West, stayed 2½m. Maiden Irish pointer, third last time (Feb 19). Wears cheekpieces.

Form: P/343-

Prince Nino^p,t⁶³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: Sean Quinlan| T: Lizzie Quinlan| OR: 87

18/1

Modest hurdler who ran with credit when third in a novice at Chepstow on final outing for Harry Derham 63 days ago. Needs to improve if he's to open his account.

Form: 85P643-

Slate Lane¹¹¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Donagh Meyler| T: E Mullins

4/9

Third in a point and showed a bit on first Rules outing over hurdles in January. Failed to build on that but has joined a shrewd yard (from Paul Hennessy), so worth a market check making British debut after 111 days off.

Form: 300D-

Our Zebo³⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: S Bowen| T: N C Kelly

25/1

Seemingly modest form when second of 3 in a novice hurdle at Ayr in March but it's not solid and he has offered no encouragement since.

Form: 2U0-0

Time For Joy⁵³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: Abbie McCain⁽⁵⁾| T: D McCain Jnr

9/1

£4,000 6-y-o, Yeats mare. Closely related to bumper winner/fair hurdler Lanty Slea, stays 21f. Winning pointer who needs considering now starting out over hurdles.

Form: 3U24F-1

You Say Its Over⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-11| J: C O'Farrell| T: Micky Hammond

33/1

Placed in a couple of points but little to get excited about in a quartet of Irish bumpers for Roger McGrath and only sixth in a novice at Hexham on hurdling bow 5 days ago. Others preferred.

Form: 036F-36

Non-Runners

Local Drama¹³

Weight: 11-4| Age: 5

Night On The Town³⁷

Weight: 10-11| Age: 7

Forecasts

Slate Lane (4/9), Night On The Town (4/1), Ballyquin Bay (6/1), Time For Joy (9/1), Big In Milan (12/1), Prince Nino (18/1), Our Zebo (25/1), You Say Its Over (33/1), Local Drama (33/1)

This isn't much of a race and TIME FOR JOY has already won between the flags, so he's preferred to Ballyquin Bay, who has the best Rules form to date. Slate Lane has joined a canny operation and returns from a break, so he's worth monitoring in the betting.
