Showed much more than previously over hurdles when second in 9-runner novice at Taunton (19f, good to soft) in December, clear of rest. Subsequent Ffos Las run over 2¾m has to go down as disappointing, though.

Prolific winner on the Flat for Keith Dalgleish in 2021 and off the mark over hurdles for new yard in a Market Rasen maiden last spring. Close third on return at the same course (20.6f, good) in May and possibly found 23f too much of a test next time. Cheekpieces applied.

Made a winning debut over hurdles in February last year and gained a first success since when landing a mares' handicap at Stratford (16.3f, soft) in April. However, she was in nothing like the same form at Perth last month and stamina to prove now upped in trip.

Landed an amateur jockeys' handicap at Ludlow in November 2021. Now 11 lb below that winning mark but with good reason (majority of his subsequent efforts have been poor) and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Fairy useful form when landing bumper at Newton Abbot in September. 0-6 over hurdles since but he wasn't beaten that far when fourth of 9 in a 15.8f handicap here back from a break earlier this month and this new trip is well worth exploring.

Winner of first 3 starts at up to 17f for new yard following a 13-month absence. Bubble well and truly burst in a Musselburgh Class 2 last time but later found to be coughing and she needs considering back down in class over a new trip that may well be within her range.

Fairly useful form on the Flat for the Gosdens and opened hurdles account in 2m Plumpton maiden in April. Has backed that up with a couple of creditable efforts in handicap company, including when second upped to 20.7f at Huntingdon last month, and he's a must for the shortlist.

Out of sorts since landing a handicap chase here in December and recent return to this sphere (also at this course) failed to spark an upturn.

Largely struggled since bagging a C&D handicap during the winter but now 3 lb below that winning mark, so he's dangerous to discount now tried in blinkers.

Forecasts

Bobby Socks (9/4), Ivetwiggedit (3/1), Highland Frolic (4/1), St Patricks Bridge (6/1), Supreme Yeats (10/1), Minelladestination (12/1), Let Me Be (12/1), Here We Have It (33/1), Ferrobin (50/1), Wee Willie Nail (66/1)

Verdict

Though yet to trouble the judge in this sphere, bumper-winner BOBBY SOCKS took a step in the right direction over 15.8f here when returning from a break, leaving the impression that this stiffer test will be in his favour. Ivetwiggedit was well held bidding for the four-timer at Musselburgh but excuses have emerged for that heavy defeat and she will be a threat back down in class if coping with this step up in trip. The 4-y-o Highland Frolic and C&D winner Supreme Yeats are others to consider.
