Fairly useful handicap hurdler who looked a natural as he opened account over fences at first attempt in a match at Ludlow (23.8f) 33 days ago, jumping accurately and doing it readily. 2 lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold showing.

9/5
Largely progressive over hurdles last term (scored twice) and took well to chasing at first attempt when bolting up in 4-runner novices' handicap at Bangor (3m) in May. 5 lb higher in what rates a stronger affair but he's a player nevertheless.

11/4
Dual hurdles winner who arrives having landed 2 of last 3 starts over fences, jumping soundly when making all in 4-runner Worcester handicap (23f) 13 days ago. This demand more from 3 lb higher but he's clearly in rude health at present.

Forecasts

Shearer (6/5), Landen Calling (9/5), Kakamora (11/4), Jet Of Magic (6/1), My Bobby Dazzler (6/1)

Verdict

Competitive despite the small field with the vote in favour of LANDEN CALLING. He jumped/travelled with plenty of purpose when opening his chase account at the first attempt at Bangor 4 weeks ago and a 5 lb rise for that success shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Shearer, a fellow chase debutant scorer at Ludlow, rates a big threat, with Kakamora, who comes here on the back of 2 wins from his last 3 starts, is also respected.
