Multiple winner over fences who made most of good opportunity to end losing run in Huntingdon novices' hurdle (20.6f) in January. Proved disappointing back over fences at Haydock since but he's a player in race of this nature returned to smaller obstacles.

Didn't get beyond the first on debut at Warwick in November but quickly dispelled that when landing back-to-back juvenile hurdles at Exeter/Ludlow. Best not judged too harshly on his run in Fred Winter at Cheltenham last month and big shout returned to calmer waters.

Off the mark at the fifth time of asking in Irish points in November but one for the long-term under Rules judged on his 2 starts over hurdles in recent weeks. Tongue tie fitted.

Fetched £62,000 after finishing second in a maiden point in February but showed little in trio of quick-fire hurdle starts this spring. Likely type for handicaps in due course.

£10,000 3-y-o, Saddler Maker gelding. Dam ran once over hurdles in France. No promise in 2 hurdle outings to date.

Point winner (at the fourth attempt) who was relatively short in the betting but ultimately shaped like a longer-term project when midfield in 11-runner Newton Abbot maiden (18.5f) on debut 7 days ago.

Fairly useful 13f Flat winner in Ireland for Andrew Oliver (sold for 62,000 gns in October). Unseated at the first on her hurdling debut and not threatened in a couple of starts since, midfield in a Warwick maiden (2m) 24 days ago. In receipt of plenty of weight here and claims of hitting the frame.

Forecasts

Romancero Le Dun (5/4), Regally Blonde (11/4), Amoola Gold (3/1), Ballyrashane (9/1), Red Notice (22/1), Hammer Dan (28/1), Henzo Des Boullats (150/1)

Verdict

ROMANCERO LE DUN never figured in the Fred Winter last month but he had excuses then and, having looked progressive in juvenile events previously, he can capitalise on the return to calmer waters and come out on top. Amoola Gold, despite a lesser display over fences recently, can emerge as the chief threat.
