Dee Lambley Birthday Celebration Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 15:55 | Winning time: 5m 18.50s

Blackjack Magic^t¹⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: Rex Dingle| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 128| D

9/4

Dual winner over hurdles for Jack Barber last term and off the mark in this sphere on second start for current yard in 4-runner event at Exeter (24.2f, heavy) back in January. Jumping fell apart in better company here next time but probably best to forgive that run.

Form: 314-21P

Make Me A Believer^t²¹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-9| J: Fergus Gillard⁽³⁾| T: D Pipe| OR: 127

4/1

Chepstow bumper winner and got off the mark at the second attempt over hurdles at Cheltenham (16.8f) back in December 2020. Made a respectable chase/handicap debut after almost 2 years off when sixth at Exeter but failed to build on that at Sandown 3 months later.

Form: 1213/66

Real Stone^t⁶⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 11-5| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 123| D

5/1

Fairly useful hurdler who showed first form in this sphere when scoring at Ffos Las (2m) 68 days ago, looking well served by the strong gallop/drop in trip. Back up in trip now but he's in excellent hands.

Form: 4F1/741

Lord Of Kerak^t¹¹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-3| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| OR: 121| CD

2/1

Fairly useful winner over hurdles and left chase bow well behind when second of 5 at Wetherby 11 days ago, race outcome still in the balance when he got the second last wrong. Open to further improvement and can go one better.

Form: 6/542-32

Prevaricate²¹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-13| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR: 117

9/1

Fairly useful winning hurdler for Gordon Elliott. Looks the part for chasing but well held both starts for this yard this term, albeit showing a lot more than Wetherby reappearance at Sandown last time.

Form: 2418-P8

Forecasts

Lord Of Kerak (2/1), Blackjack Magic (9/4), Make Me A Believer (4/1), Real Stone (5/1), Prevaricate (9/1)

LORD OF KERAK left his chasing debut form well behind when beaten only by a progressive one at Wetherby 11 days ago (likely to have gone close had he not met the second last wrong) so has a big shout off the same mark. Real Stone looked suited by the drop to 2m when winning in good style at Ffos Las in January but he does stay this far so still rates the main threat back up in distance.
