Fairly useful dual bumper winner who went very close to opening his hurdles account in 14-runner maiden at Kilbeggan (19f) on his final outing for Emmet Mullins in September. Fitted with a first-time tongue strap and sets the standard.

13/8
Point/bumper winner who showed fairly useful form when runner-up in novice/maiden hurdles in mid-winter. Disappointing in Sandown handicaps the last twice but will be a threat if bouncing back under a 7-lb conditional.

Successful twice between the flags but has shown nothing in a pair of maiden hurdles under Rules. Significantly up in trip.

Made some appeal on paper but was badly in need of the experience when well held in a novice hurdle on last month's debut at Bangor. Up in trip.

Showed a fair level of ability when runner-up in a brace of bumpers 25 months apart and perhaps paid the price for racing prominently with superior horses on his Bangor hurdling debut. Up in trip. Should do better.
|
Timeform
Showed ability on his only start in bumpers and shaped as if better for the run when well held on last month's hurdling debut at Lingfield. Capable of better.
|
Timeform
Modest in bumpers and was held back by inexperience when fifth of 13 on his Ffos Las hurdling debut (20f). Should improve.

Didn't achieve a great deal despite finishing second in a bumper at Exeter in January and looked badly in need of the experience starting out over hurdles at Taunton 10 weeks later.

Forecasts

Carrarea (6/4), Gaelic Park (13/8), Morning Line (5/1), Kankin (15/2), Table Thirty Four (16/1), Intel Des Bruyeres (40/1), Wonder Of The Seas (66/1), Grumpy Rosie (125/1), Garcon Dargent (200/1), Cassowary (200/1), Dr Lockdown (300/1)

Verdict

CARRAREA sets a clear standard on the form he showed in Ireland for Emmet Mullins, so there's no real urge to oppose him in a maiden lacking depth. Gaelic Park can provide the main threat if bouncing back from a couple of lesser efforts. Morning Line ought to prove capable of better and is the pick of the remainder.
