Thank You To Bangor-On-Dee Groundstaff Team Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 16:53 | Winning time: 4m 15.91s

Feel The Pinch^t⁴³

Age: 9| Weight: 12-0| J: Mitchell Bastyan| T: R L Llewellyn| OR: 108| CD

11/2

Fair hurdler who made a successful switch to chasing here in November. Shaped as if still in good form back hurdling since and likely to be competitive for new yard if over his fall here 6 weeks ago.

Form: 31-416F

Sir Valentine^v³³

Age: 10| Weight: 11-9| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Miss C Dyson| OR: 103

50/1

No show in 3 starts over hurdles/fences for new yard since returning from a lengthy absence and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Form: 452/7PP

Ballabawn^t²³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 102

5/4

Irish point winner who got better with each run first 3 starts over hurdles. Just a respectable third on handicap bow at Ludlow since but worth another chance on earlier form.

Form: 3-14223

Lookforarainbow^t⁴³

Age: 10| Weight: 11-7| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽³⁾| T: Sarah Hollinshead| OR: 101

16/1

Won at Stratford in June 2019 but absent for 21 months prior to a fall over C&D in May 2021 and probably needed the run back here having been off a similar length of time again. Hard to know what to expect.

Form: 4130/F-5

Scherbobalob³¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-6| J: Jay Tidball⁽⁷⁾| T: A Ralph| OR: 100

8/1

Modest maiden on Flat but has shown ability over hurdles, best effort when fourth of 15 in novice hurdle at Ludlow (15.8f, good to soft) 31 days ago. Opening mark demands another step forward, though.

Form: 794

Iceman Dennis^t1⁴⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Theo Gillard| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 97

6/1

A touch disappointing since his near miss in a bumper on debut, including no significant impact in 2m handicaps the last twice. Tongue tie now added.

Form: 3U4347

Hollow Ron^t¹¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-2| J: Toby Wynne⁽⁵⁾| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 81

7/2

Won sole start in points but out with the washing all 3 starts under Rules. Makes handicap debut.

Form: 1878

Forecasts

Ballabawn (5/4), Hollow Ron (7/2), Feel The Pinch (11/2), Iceman Dennis (6/1), Kings Justice (13/2), Scherbobalob (8/1), Lookforarainbow (16/1), Sir Valentine (50/1)

BALLABAWN failed to continue his progress when third on his handicap bow at Ludlow but he's worth another chance with doubts surrounding most of his rivals. Kings Justice and Feel The Pinch are feared most.
