Showed little in 2 bumpers but shaped with much more promise when third in 24-runner maiden at Naas (18.8f, soft) on hurdles debut in December. Unsuited by the drop in trip when below that level at Newcastle next time but still merits respect in a weak race.

Landed an Ayr bumper on debut in October 2021, but the wheels have come off subsequently. Has had a breathing operation ahead of hurdle debut.

Hooded when 28/1 winner of 10-runner bumper at Roscommon (15.4f, good) on debut in September for Kieran Purcell. Since changed hands for £85,000 and should have more to offer now going hurdling for his new stable.

Timeform
Unplaced in bumpers for Tim Reed and comfortably held both starts over hurdles. Handicaps presumably up after this.

Unplaced in bumpers and made an extremely inauspicious start over hurdles at Ayr 2 weeks ago. Can only be watched.

Forecasts

Garde Des Champs (5/4), Artiste D'ainay (2/1), Quaresome (5/2), Jimmy's Jet (14/1), Shantou's Temple (40/1), Don't Look Back (66/1), Donso Star (80/1), Jims Apple (150/1)

Verdict

It wasn't an especially strong bumper QUARESOME won at Roscommon, but he really impressed with how much he found for pressure and starts out over hurdles in winnable race, so is taken to maintain his unbeaten record. Garde des Champs and Artiste d'Ainay are the obvious threats.
