Oncourse Bookmakers Welcome You To Stratford Handicap Chase

Off time: 13:30 | Winning time: 4m 29.86s

Grandeur D'ame⁴⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR: 119| D

11/8

Bumper/hurdles winner who made it third time lucky in this sphere at Huntingdon (16.5f) in January. Hard to grumble with a 5 lb rise and, with similar conditions forecast here, he should have a big part to play.

Form: 326-371

Thelasthighking^t1¹³²

9/2

Signed off last season with a game success in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster. Disappointing on return/chase debut at Warwick in November but since undergone a wind op and better expected here with a first-time tongue strap enlisted.

Form: 25241-4

Greenrock Abbey^p³⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-8| J: R Patrick| T: Kerry Lee| OR: 113

7/4

Has taken well to fences this season, winning 2 of his 4 starts in this sphere. Didn't do much wrong when beaten only by a progressive type at Uttoxeter (2m) last time (pair clear of the rest) and a reproduction of that would give him every chance here.

Form: 68-1312

Tiger Voice^b1¹⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 11-7| J: Robert Williams⁽³⁾| T: B J Llewellyn| OR: 112

66/1

Winning hurdler/chaser for Henry de Bromhead in Ireland but, having changed hands for £18,000 in October, he hasn't shown much spark in 3 starts for present connections. Now tried in blinkers.

Form: 009-945

Extraordinary Man²⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: Lily Pinchin⁽³⁾| T: D G Bridgwater| OR: 103| BF

15/2

Fair maiden over hurdles (twice placed during 2021/22) who probably ran to a similar level sent chasing after 12 weeks off when second in 3-runner affair at Leicester last month. Not entirely without hope on handicap debut in this sphere.

Form: 394U-52

Forecasts

Grandeur D'ame (11/8), Greenrock Abbey (7/4), Thelasthighking (9/2), Extraordinary Man (15/2), Tiger Voice (66/1)

GREENROCK ABBEY improved for the fitting of cheekpieces when scoring in good style at Hereford in January and subsequently pulled clear of the rest when hitting the crossbar at Uttoxeter. He should be suited by this sharp track and shades preference ahead of Huntingdon-winner Grandeur d'Ame. Though Thelasthighking was well beaten on debut in this sphere, he is very much a chasing type on looks and may leave that form well behind here following a break/wind op.
