Has made a promising start, showing a good attitude to overcome both the drop in trip and a steady pace as he opened his account at Fontwell (17.7f) a fortnight ago. Step back up in distance will suit and fair shout with Freddie Gordon's claim off-setting penalty.

Well-regarded point winner who was much improved as he made all in 16.7f Exeter novice hurdle in the mud 9 weeks ago. The second has won well himself since and he has to be respected back up in trip under a penalty.

Bought for £145,000 after winning her sole Irish point in November and looked a good prospect as she won 4-runner 20f Ffos Las novice hurdle last month, drawing clear before the last and eased. More to come.

Easily off mark in points at fifth attempt (Jan 2022). Starts out over hurdles in a deep contest.

Point winner in 2019 but well held completed start in maiden hurdles in Ireland. Cheekpieces go on. Can only be watched for new yard.

Won a Gowran mares' bumper last February. Only fifth in bumper at Aintree on stable debut in October but made an encouraging start over hurdles when third over 2m at Lingfield in December (split next-time-out winners). Longer trip now likely to suit. Player for top yard.

Verdict

A useful-looking novice despite the small field with solid cases to be made for four runners, HERMES DU GOUET just shading the vote after his easy front-running victory at Exeter. The second that day won impressively next time and he looks sure to do better back up in trip. Ah Whisht looked a promising mare when following up her point win in a Ffos Las novice hurdle and has more to offer. Fontwell-winner Goodwin Racing and Bombay Sapphire are also in the frame.
