Won the Sandown Veterans' Series Final last season but yet to fully fire this term, never looking like retaining his crown at Sandown 9 weeks ago.
Scored at Carlisle on last season's reappearance but has continued to be held back by his jumping/attitude since. Fitting of cheekpieces looks a good move and he's well treated if reviving.
Really got his act together in 2022, landing a 4-timer in staying handicap chases. Progress has stalled since, though he possibly did a bit too much in front at Exeter last time and has been given a break since. First go over this sort of trip.
Looked promising in novice hurdles in autumn 2020 but missed just over 2 years and down the field on both starts in novice handicap chases this term. Suspect she remains capable of better and worth noting in the betting up in trip with Harry Skelton back on and first-time headgear tried.
Won the 2021 Devon National and has run with credit when third over 3m at Bangor (chase) and back at Exeter (hurdles) this winter. The stiffer the test the better and no surprise to see him go well back up in distance.
Goes very well here, his only defeat from 5 visits coming when faced with a stiff task in the Classic Chase in January, while he's won this race for the last 2 years (easily saw off Eclair de Guye 12 months ago). Fair effort over inadequate trip/under inexperienced rider latest and big run likely.
Reportedly lame at Bangor last time but had been in good form in regional Nationals prior to that and was second to Volcano in this last year from 5 lb higher.
Has won 3 handicap chases in Scotland in the last 12 months and ran well in first-time cheekpieces at Carlisle 3 weeks ago. Hit with a 5 lb rise but has bags of stamina and yard in tremendous form.
Did well upon joining new yard, winning a couple of 3m Bangor handicap chases and second to easy thrown-in winner at Uttoxeter when last seen in June. Might need this.
Won 23f Taunton handicap chase in the mud a year ago and a couple of good runs since. Looked hard work at Market Rasen last time though and this is tougher up in trip.

Forecasts
Volcano (9/4), Eclair De Guye (6/1), Samuel Jackson (6/1), Destiny Is All (7/1), Jaytee (7/1), Hold That Taught (9/1), Wild Romance (10/1), Gats And Co (16/1), Prime Venture (22/1), Daranova (25/1)
VOLCANO looks set to erupt again back up in trip and can win this race for the third year running for Sheila Lewis and Ben Jones. Wild Romance is interesting up in trip for Warwick's leading yard and the hint should be taken if she's backed in first-time headgear. Samuel Jackson and last year's runner-up Eclair de Guye are also in the mix.
