First Angelt226
Age: 7|  Weight: 12-0| J: Adam Wedge| T: L Morgan| OR:  105| BF
Fair maiden who ran right up to best when placed in 2 starts over fences last summer, latterly at Perth (2m) in July. Returns from 7 months off with yard in good form and operating from same mark, so well worth a second look.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: D G Bridgwater| OR:  103| BF
Fair maiden over hurdles (twice placed during 2021/22) who probably ran to a similar level sent chasing after 12 weeks off when second in 3-runner C&D maiden 3 weeks ago. Task is to build on that now handicapping in this sphere.

Master Malcolmb,t29
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-1| J: Harrison Beswick(3)| T: Mrs E Bishop| OR:  92
Signed off last term with back-to-back Fontwell successes. Mixed bag in handful of starts so far this campaign but ran right up to best (in first-time blinkers) when fourth at Huntingdon (19.8f) 4 weeks ago. Winner boosted that form next time and respected with a repeat.

Little form in Irish points and similar story initially under Rules. However, brighter effort when second in 5-runner Catterick handicap chase 10 days ago but he does need to build on that here.

Of little account nowadays and again easy enough to look elsewhere operating from so far out of the weights.

Forecasts

First Angel (6/4), Extraordinary Man (5/2), Master Malcolm (3/1), Dogem By Design (6/1), Dun Bay Creek (33/1)

Verdict

MASTER MALCOLM bounced back to his best when seen off by only one going firmly the right way at Huntingdon 4 weeks ago and, in the hope the headgear has the desired effect once more, he could be the answer. First Angel, who was placed twice over fences last summer, rates the lead threat on return to action, ahead of Extraordinary Man.
