Runner-up on second of his 2 starts between the flags but yet to show any real signs of ability under Rules.

Left hurdles debut form well behind following a second wind op when going close in an 11-runner C&D maiden last time. Pulled clear of the rest that day and now presented with a golden opportunity to go one better.

Half-brother to useful hurdler/smart chaser Livelovelaugh but probably more one for the longer-term judged on his low-key Rules debut in a bumper here last month. Yard also saddles Fifty Shades Ovhay.

Successful twice and also runner-up on 2 occasions from 7 starts between the flags. Interesting to see what the market has to say now embarking on a career under Rules.

Caused a surprise when winning 8-runner Worcester bumper last summer. Mixed bag on the Flat in recent months but showed an aptitude for this game when third of 12 in a 2m Plumpton maiden 3 weeks ago and this step up in trip looks a good move.

Poor form in 2 bumpers for Nigel Twiston-Davies but has shown much more spark sent hurdling for new yard the last twice, latterly finding just one too good in a 15.8f Southwell maiden. That form looks pretty modest but he has each-way claims back up in trip here all the same.

Second in a Huntingdon bumper on debut and again shaped with promise when third on Wetherby hurdles debut in October 2021. However, unseated at the final flight (well held at the time) tried in cheekpieces (discarded here) 2 months later and subsequent absence is a concern.

Winner of sole completed start between the flags and Rules debut fifth of 13 in a Uttoxeter maiden hurdle (23.3f) on New Year's Eve was encouraging enough. Effort at Leicester since represented a backward step and he's probably more one for handicaps in due course.

Made winning start in a Warwick bumper in spring 2021. Best effort over hurdles when 2 lengths fourth in 23.5f Fakenham handicap debut on New Year's Day but pulled up both subsequent starts (over fences last time) and now tried in cheekpieces.

Pulled up both starts in maiden points in 2021 and probably best watched on debut in this sphere, unless the market suggests otherwise.

Well held in a couple of bumpers and the addition of cheekpieces/switch to hurdles failed to spark any improvement at Lingfield last month.

Off the mark in points at the third attempt (match) but showed nothing in a bumper at Aintree (sole outing for Katie Ayres) and the outcome was much the same on hurdles debut for new yard at Ludlow. Hood applied.

Poor/unreliable on the Flat and offered little on recent hurdles bow at Sedgefield.

Forecasts

Chilinlikeavillain (4/5), Jumping Jupiter (5/1), O'Connell (13/2), Revasser (10/1), Jack The Savage (10/1), Kalmoor (10/1), Garcon Dargent (16/1), Fifty Shades Ovhay (33/1), Endlesspossibility (80/1), Skeeter Park (100/1), My Virtue (150/1), Vertice (200/1), Cassowary (200/1), Bury Walls (250/1)

Verdict

CHILINLIKEAVILLAIN gave short-priced stablemate Richhill a scare over this C&D last month and a reproduction of that will surely make him very hard to beat. Unless the addition of cheekpieces help Revasser to get back on track, it's likely that Jumping Jupiter and Jack The Savage will be left to scrap it out for minor honours.
