Fair Flat winner for Andrew Slattery in Ireland but has yet to better modest form over hurdles, possibly flattered by finishing position fitted with a hood at Haydock 11 days ago. This is an easier race.

Half-brother to 2 winners on Flat and made an excellent start when landing an Aintree bumper in November for Richard Bandey. Failed to justify favouritism both starts over hurdles, finding only one too good on each occasion. Should be more to come.
|
Fair French maiden on the Flat. More polished on third hurdles start switched to a handicap when second at Doncaster a month ago. That is just about the best form on offer.
|
Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Prefontaine (2m winner). Fair maiden handicapper on Flat (stays 11f), run best excused when down the field last time. Sold from Andrew Balding 40,000 gns in October. Stamina no concern now hurdling. Fair bit to like.

Forecasts
Elogio (11/8), Morandi Second (7/4), Ve Day (7/2), Apologise (10/1)
A case can be made for all 3 with hurdles form but VE DAY, a half-brother to a useful sort in this sphere, may well be up to the job on his hurdles debut having transferred from one very good yard to another. Elogio is the pick for the forecast.
