Vickers.Bet Mares' Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Promise when third in bumpers and overcame a sloppy round of jumping to make a winning hurdling debut in 3-runner mares novice at Huntingdon in October. Can do better so big player under a penalty.

Fair in bumpers but was pulled up after losing her action (found to be lame on left hind) on hurdling debut sole start last season. Shaped as if retaining all ability after 13 months off until taking a crashing fall at Leicester 69 days ago (would have finished in frame). Remains with potential.

€4,500 3-y-o, Getaway mare. Sister to a point winner. Dam 2m hurdle winner who stayed 3m. Not an obvious type on paper.

Scorpion filly. Dam, 3m hurdle winner, closely related to useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser (stays 25f) Solstice Star and useful hurdler/chaser Graceful Legend. Well held in Newbury bumper 11 months ago.

Won completed start in Irish points during the spring and positive start under Rules when second in 2½m Newcastle novice (soft) in November. Disappointed at Catterick since but worth another chance.

Protektor mare. Sister to fairly useful hurdle winner/useful chaser Pougne Bobbi, stays 2¾m. Dam little form on Flat. Off mark in Irish points at fourth attempt (May 1) but only seventh of 10 on Rules debut in bumper here in November.

€17,000 3-y-o, Westerner mare. Dam (c104) 2m-2¾m hurdle/chase winner (stayed 25f). Runner-up sole start in Irish points (Mar 2022). Interesting newcomer.
