Well prepared following 6 months off to land 3-runner mares' handicap at Hereford in October. Promised more than what she ultimately delivered having travelled well for a long way at Cheltenham (20.6f, good) last time but leading claims here all the same.

Dual winner over hurdles (at up to 21.3f) last season and fair encouraging start over fences on return at Kempton in November. In trouble a long way out at Cheltenham next time, though, and she has bit to prove on the back of that.

Benefited from a more patient ride when opening her account in 14-runner handicap hurdle at Hereford (21.7f, soft) in December. Probably best to overlook subsequent Ffos Las display and she could have a part to play if her jumping passes the test now switched to fences.

Winless following half-a-dozen attempts over hurdles but twice ran well at this venue. Yet to match pick of her form in that sphere, in 2 starts over fences but her mark is easing all the time, so she's not one to be writing off.

Sole win over fences was registered over C&D in September 2020. Hit the crossbar twice off higher marks than this last summer and while she has needs to bounce back following a couple of non-completions, she will be a threat if on-song.

Forecasts

Mad About Sally (6/4), River Tyne (3/1), Electric Annie (5/1), Whatsdastory (6/1), Tazka (15/2)

Verdict

The vote in this trappy-looking contest goes to WHATSDASTORY, who didn't find as much as looked likely when sixth at Cheltenham in December but she's now 2 lb lower in a weaker race. If Mad About Sally takes to fences at the first attempt she could be the one to follow the selection home, though a back-to-form Tazka would also be a threat.
